Hello and welcome to this Omeka site documenting the environmental movement at Middlebury College. This website adapts and expands upon a database built by students in the history department in 2015 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Environmental Studies at the college. This items from this database were uploaded here, refined to keep the focus narrow, and supplemented with further items, pulled largely from Middlebury Special Collections hosted on Internet Archive. They are sorted into 5 collections, and there is one exhibit, focusing on the history of Environmental Quality, a long-running and pioneering student group organized around environmental protection. This work was completed by Student Researcher Ewan Inglis under the supervision of Professor Kathryn Morse during the Summer of 2023. We hope you enjoy!
